Slow Computer
How-To speed up My Computer
One of the best things you can do to keep your computer running as smooth as possible. Is a good habit of filing your documents, pictures and downloaded files. What I mean is just like the secretary at the office filing paper in the filling cabinet. By keeping your computer organized it helps you be more productive and easier to find the files you want or need. I file everything in My Documents folder, making the things I use and need easier to find. Working with clients on web sights and hosting I find it easier for me to file by client name. I create a folder using the client name then with in that folder I will create folders that are specific to the need. For instant’s My folder my look like this.
Folder in My Documents
Client= John Doe
Sub Folders
- Web site Construction information
- Contact and communications
- Images
- Flash Programs
- Submitted Text
- Website = This would be the folder for the Web Sight I’m working on. I try to keep my Picture file as organize as I can and same with video files. For pictures I started using the same file technique as MS Office using categories for miscellaneous pictures such as Backgrounds, Animal,People,and so on.
I do keep close track of My picture and video files. When they reach the point that they would fill a CD ROM then I do just that transfer them to CD. I don’t loose pictures that way and my file space stays reasonable for good computing (Note I do keep some picture and video I use a lot in a file called everyday) and Don’t Have to many open programs on your tool bar.

What happens from browsing the Internet?
This is one thing that can in a short time really slow down your computer. When we surf the net or browser will keep a snap shot of the pages we go to in a temp file this helps speed up or browsing experience and cookies are downloaded from sits to identify shopping and browsing experience as well as asset in run flash or java script application. to help this from slowing down your computer try using a malware spy-ware utility to remove some of the unwanted cookie and files. Then its a good ideas to set your browser to either delete your browsing history on exit or at the lest limit the amount of temp space allowed for storing page history.( Now remember the page history does help with fast execution of the pages you visit by updating the old page not downloading a new page with each visit.) So some space for this is good. To make changes in your browser simple click on tools then click on options. Now in the taps on the first screen you see there is an option to delete or view stored files. click on delete all, this well empty your temp file speeding up your computer because now you have decreased the search time needed.
My computer is better but still running slower then I like.
OK so we have made some setting and cleaned up areas we needed to, Now what? Well now we want to use the windows disk clean utility this well safely removed old archived update files that are taking up needed space and old setup files held in the windows temp file. To do this click on start, click on programs, then click on accessories, mouse over to system tools and then click on Disc clean up. Let it run, It can take some time so go get a cup of coffee or hot chocolate and relaces a bit.
